Why the Serpent Trail 50K?
The Serpent Trail 50K is a brilliant introduction to ultrarunning.

Starting near Petworth and finishing in Petersfield, the route follows the southern section of the Serpent Trail through the beautiful South Downs National Park.

Along the way you’ll experience woodland, heathland, rolling trails, greensand hills and plenty of the kind of scenery that reminds you why trail running is about much more than simply chasing a time.
At around 50 kilometres with approximately 700 metres of ascent, it is a genuine ultra challenge, but one that is very achievable with sensible, consistent training.

The event is also particularly welcoming to first-time ultrarunners, with a well-marked route, regular checkpoints, generous cut-offs and walkers very much part of the event.

For us, the aim won’t be to race every step.
It will be to learn how to manage the distance, fuel properly, pace ourselves, keep moving when things get difficult and, most importantly, enjoy the experience.

50K might sound a long way today.

By July, we want it to feel like something you are genuinely ready for.

What is Stronger Together?
Stronger Together is a small-group coaching programme created by Into Ultra to help runners take on an ultramarathon with support, structure and a team around them.

Rather than training alone and trying to work everything out yourself, you’ll be part of a group all working towards the same goal: the Serpent Trail 50K on 3 July 2027.

Over the months leading up to race day, we’ll build your endurance gradually, develop your confidence on the trails and work through the practical side of ultrarunning together.

That means learning about things like pacing, fuelling, hydration, kit, run-walk strategies, strength, recovery and what to do when a training day — or race day — doesn’t go perfectly.

But Stronger Together is about more than a training plan.

-
It’s about having people around you who understand what you’re working towards.
-
People to celebrate the good runs with.
-
People to reassure you when training feels hard.
-
People who understand why completing 20 miles on a wet Sunday morning suddenly feels like a major life achievement.
And by the time we reach July, the aim is that we don’t arrive at the Serpent Trail as a collection of individuals.

We arrive as a team.
