About me...
I’m an England Athletics qualified running coach and UESCA-certified Ultrarunning Coach, but my coaching isn’t just for ultrarunners.
I work with people at different stages of their running journey — from those building confidence on the trails for the first time, to runners preparing for longer trail events and ultras.
What matters to me is helping people become more confident, capable and knowledgeable runners. That doesn’t mean chasing pace for the sake of it.
-
It means understanding how to train in a way that works for you.
-
How to build endurance gradually.
-
How to get stronger.
-
How to manage hills.
-
How to fuel properly.
-
How to recover.
-
How to fit running around work, family and everything else life has a habit of throwing at us.
And perhaps most importantly, how to enjoy the process. I’ve spent years running trails, taking on endurance challenges and learning that progress rarely comes from trying to be perfect. It comes from consistency, curiosity and gradually discovering what your body and mind are capable of.
That’s the approach I bring to coaching.
My coaching philosophy
I don’t believe there is one perfect way to be a runner.
-
Some people want to run faster.
-
Some want to go further.
-
Some want to feel stronger.
-
Some simply want to arrive at the start of an event feeling confident that they’ve prepared properly.
My job is to help you work towards your goal, not somebody else’s idea of what running should look like.
Walking is allowed, rest is training. Real life matters and running should still be something you actually enjoy.
Through Trail-Run Explorers, I want to create a welcoming space where runners feel comfortable learning, asking questions and challenging themselves without feeling that they need to be a certain speed or ability before they belong.
Who I coach
I work with runners who may be:
-
Starting to explore trail running
-
Building towards their first trail race
-
Preparing for 10K, half marathon or marathon distances
-
Moving from road running onto the trails
-
Training for their first ultra
-
Training for their 50th Ultra
-
Looking to improve their endurance, confidence or race strategy
-
Returning to running after a break
-
Or simply wanting some structure and support around their training
You don't need to be fast or experienced. You just need a goal that matters to you.
Wherever you're starting from, we'll build from there.
