Is Stronger Together for me?

Stronger Together is designed for runners who want to take on an ultra with support around them.

You might be preparing for your first 50K.

You might already have some longer-distance experience but want more structure, confidence and company.

You might simply be looking at the Serpent Trail 50K and thinking:

“I’d love to do that… but I’m not completely sure I can.”

That’s exactly the sort of place many runners start from.

You do not need to be fast.

You do not need to have years of trail-running experience.

And you do not need to be someone who already calls themselves an ultrarunner.

What matters much more is that you are willing to train consistently, learn, ask questions and support the rest of the group along the way.

By the start of the programme, ideally you should be comfortable running or run-walking for around 90 minutes to 2 hours, at a pace that works for you.

From there, we build.

Gradually.

Sensibly.

Together.

You’ll probably fit right in if…

  • You’re considering your first ultra or have run a couple but would like some guidance and community

  • 50K feels exciting and slightly intimidating

  • You want a structured plan rather than guessing your way through training

  • You enjoy the idea of training with other runners

  • You want to learn more about pacing, fuelling, kit and race strategy

  • You’re happy to use a mixture of running and walking

  • You want to finish feeling proud of what you’ve achieved, rather than worrying about how fast you did it

What if I’m worried I’ll be the slowest?

That is a very normal concern.

And it absolutely should not stop you applying.

Ultra running is not simply about speed.

It is about patience, pacing, problem solving, looking after yourself and continuing to move forward.

Different runners will have different strengths.

Someone might be quicker uphill.

Someone else might be brilliant at pacing.

Another person might be the one who somehow still remembers to eat when everyone else has temporarily forgotten how food works.

The aim isn’t to make everyone the same runner.

The aim is to help each person find their own way to the finish line.
